Canadian maple grows slowly due to the colder climate. This creates a dense cluster of growth rings which gives the wood strength, stiffness resilience to handle the abuse of skateboarding.
A special blend of epoxy resin is then used to bind the layers of maple wood together. This specially formulated blend of epoxy is lighter and stronger than conventional water based glue widely used across the skateboard industry. Furthermore, unlike conventional 7ply Canadian Maple skateboards 5ply Canadian Maple + 2ply composite fibre is used in the construction of this board to increase its strength while reducing its weight. With the help of this secret formula, the Skatesky 'Blast off' skateboard is lighter, stronger and stiffer than other skateboards giving you the most bang for your buck!
